Trust Restatements

Trust restatements are a broader type of trust amendment. In essence, it completely replaces all previous amendments and redefines the terms of the trust. Only the name of the trust, the trustees, and the establishment date of the trust remain unchanged. The contents of the trust (deeds, accounts, investments) do not need to be changed if they were already in the trust. When a trust is significantly outdated or has become ineffective due to changes in law or circumstances, it may be better to draft trust restatements than to address changes paragraph by paragraph.
