When most people think of retirement, they imagine a finish line — a stopping point. But I’ve always seen it as more of a transition. A shift. A chance to slow down just enough to do more of what you love, when you want to do it.

But there’s one big question that lingers in many minds: Will I have enough money to last?

As I talk to people nearing retirement, I often hear the same line: “I think I’m doing okay.” And that may very well be true. But it always brings me back to the same question: how do you know?
